Chocolate Attack- 7 1/2 Mo.

After a month and a half of trying different veggies, Preston has been allowed by mom to try fruit. So this week he got a taste of applesauce and gobbled it right up!

This photo shows the result of a very mobile Preston, as he scooted off to attack the leftover ice cream bowl that his big sis left on the couch. MMM chocolate!

God is good. Mommy and Daddy are bringing home the bacon, hospital bills were a lot smaller than expected, I can rock 'n roll, and my fingers are delicious! ~P

Daddy has a job!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Daddy has a job now since being out of work since November. The job is in Seattle, WA across the country...but it is most welcome. Daddy will come home once or twice a month to see Preston.

Preston at two months!

13 lbs., Happy & healthy! Around Feb. 15, 2009
Preston had his two month checkup with his cardiologist and his primary physician. They both say he's doing great! All that is needed are follow-up visits from time to time. Preston also got his first shots. His head turned red as a beet, but he forgot about the pain quickly.

Happy and healthy...

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Daddy came to visit Preston for a few hours last night! He also brought some outfits from Grandma, which are most appreciated. Preston was sleeping during most of the visit, but hopefully they can spend more time together real soon. We're still praying Daddy can find a job soon, too.

Preston had a Dr. appointment on Wed., and he is up to 10 lbs., 21 1/2" long. His doctor says he is doing very well, just like any other healthy baby, and he is no longer on any medication! Mom can let him sleep a little longer at night, although she still runs the risk of a leaky diaper! She goes back to work next Monday, and Preston will be staying with a nice lady in her home. Life on a more normal schedule will be a welcome change.

We're also looking forward to seeing some more smiles from Preston, it looks like he is starting to smile on purpose just a teeny but, instead of just at random. :-) Hope to have new photos made soon!

Priceless

Preston Dean continues to do very well.

He had his regular visit with his pediatrician on Jan. 6th, and Dr. Smith says he's a healthy baby. He is up to 9 lbs., 21" long.

On Jan. 8th he also had a post-op visit at the cardiologists' office. They said he looked great. His incision is looking good, and he is now off of his antibiotic.

Mom, however, had not been getting much sleep. Three to four hours a night, maybe five if she was lucky. Now she is learning to sleep during the day and tries not to get so distracted with doing so much.

The hospital total came in (not including doctor fees or mom's visit) and Preston's stay from Dec. 15th-Dec. 31st comes to $118, 612.66 before insurance. We sure hope that includes heart surgery.

Mom also found a great lady to take care of Preston when she goes back to work in a few weeks. Not sure how we'll afford that either, but time will tell.

Here's a photo of mom & baby at just about a month old. Mom says time with Preston has been priceless. Preston is looking forward to getting to know his dad when he realizes what he's missing.

Preston was released from the hospital on New Year's Eve. The cardiologist told us at 8:30 a.m. that we could go home after some tests. It was a long day of a few tests and a lot of waiting. We finally arrived home around 8:00 p.m.
