Priceless

Preston Dean continues to do very well.

He had his regular visit with his pediatrician on Jan. 6th, and Dr. Smith says he's a healthy baby. He is up to 9 lbs., 21" long.

On Jan. 8th he also had a post-op visit at the cardiologists' office. They said he looked great. His incision is looking good, and he is now off of his antibiotic.

Mom, however, had not been getting much sleep. Three to four hours a night, maybe five if she was lucky. Now she is learning to sleep during the day and tries not to get so distracted with doing so much.

The hospital total came in (not including doctor fees or mom's visit) and Preston's stay from Dec. 15th-Dec. 31st comes to $118, 612.66 before insurance. We sure hope that includes heart surgery.

Mom also found a great lady to take care of Preston when she goes back to work in a few weeks. Not sure how we'll afford that either, but time will tell.

Here's a photo of mom & baby at just about a month old. Mom says time with Preston has been priceless. Preston is looking forward to getting to know his dad when he realizes what he's missing.

Jennifer,
I am so glad you and your family are doing well! I know you have your hands full with Preston and Rachael but God has truly blessed you and that's just how us mothers have to look at it. It is so worth every minute of lost sleep, pain, worry, and exhaustion when you hear your daughter say "I love you, Mom" and when your son looks up and knows all is well because Mom is there. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

Hi Jenn! I'm so glad you set up this site. You and Preston have been in my thoughts and prayers since day 1 and I've been checking back to see how you are doing. I'm so happy that Preston is finally home and you can spend some quality time together. Enjoy every minute.
